Use the Lawrence Courtyard Reservation Request Form to request the Lawrence Hall Courtyard for exhibitions or events. Reservation requests must be approved prior to any exhibition or event.

Building Construction lab activity

Exhibition details:

In the past, we have done small-scale testing of cardboard structures for the ARCH 470/570 Building Construction class in the courtyard. This several a lab sections over the couple of days requested, with about 16 students and two instructors with each group. We have two table setup and place the structures on one of the tables and load it with a small bucket of sand to see how it performs. We like to use the courtyard as there is more space than in the lab space we have, and getting things back in order is easier. We will dismantle the setup when we don’t have consecutive labs that follow each other, and overnight and remove from the courtyard in between. We will also be sure to fully clean up and restore all furniture placement once completed. Thanks for considering our request.
